Gran
Our Gran was amazing
She really was the best
She was beautiful, kind and cheery
And loved being brightly dressed.
Her eyes were always sparkling
Her smile lit up her face
The way she cuddled us in her arms
Was really truly ace.
She was great at cooking
Her soups and cakes were yummy
But our favourite was her lasagne
Which was delicious in our tummies.
We loved playing games with Gran
Colouring and dot-to-dots
She always got a fright
At the end of Mr Pop!
Yes our Gran was amazing
And we will miss her clearly
But our hearts are full of happy thoughts
Because she loved us dearly.

A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard-working hands at rest,
It broke our hearts to see you go,
God only takes the best.
They say that memories are golden,
Well maybe that is true,
But we never wanted memories,
We only wanted you.
Your life was love and labour,
Your love for your family true,
You did your best for all of us,
We will always remember you.
We sat beside your bedside,
Our hearts were crushed and sore,
We did our duty to the end,
‘Til we could do no more.
In tears we watched you sinking,
We watched you fade away,
And though our hearts were breaking,
We knew you could not stay.
You’re off to a better place now,
To meet up with friends and family so dear,
We’ll miss you very deeply,
Until one day we’ll all be near.
